Greetings Crafters

Today I want to share with you a card I made for the sketch challenge over at Aussie Crafters!  Here is the sketch:

Being school holidays, we have been spending so much time at the beach and with this stunning new Kaiser Craft paper pad (sandy toes) I just treated myself to, I decided that my inspiration for the January Sketch would be have a beach theme!

The papers are too divine .... I used the following printed designs from the Sandy Toes 12 x 12 pad ...

they are such lovely washed or weathered designs.  I also got the collectables but didn't use any on this card.

I cut my card to A5 using a white 250gsm card, scored and folded it in half.  I would have maybe been tempted to twist or flip the sketch but as this is an inspiarional sketch for the Aussie Crafters I know that for some members this will be their first sketch. You are more than welcome to flip it to any degree and even mirror it if you wish.

I used the printed designs in the following way and inked the edges with denim distress ink for dimension.

The card looked very empty and instead of using something from the Sandy Toes collectables I decided to colour up one of Mo's little sailors they are too darling for words!

I chose the standing one simply because it would fit best on the particular spot on the card that I wanted to fill.  I printed him on X press graph x blending card and coloured him in with copics .....

I fussy cut him on the silhouette and stuck him in the front most panel, I love the colours I used for both the background and the sailor however I think that I could have used more greys in the colouring it seemed warm and washed till i put it in the background.

Thanks for visiting and if you would like to try out this challenge by all means ...... if you are a resident in Australia - why not join the Aussie Crafters and submit your sketch to the challenge and stand the chance to win a prize.

Till next time - Keep it Crafty
